Courtney Jeffery is the founder of AOA and is a Registered Psychotherapist, Ecotherapist and Holistic Yoga Therapist. Courtney holds a diploma in psychotherapy from the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling Program (OPC) and is a member with the Canadian Association of Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT), and is also a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).  Working as a therapist with an established private practice for 14 years, she is known for her individualized and integrative approach to therapy. Her 6 year training in psychotherapy at OPC in Toronto,  culminated with a thesis on Ecotherapy and the connection between nature and personal and developmental psychology.  Additionally, she underwent a 3 year apprenticeship and over 17 years of study in yogic and ayurvedic psychology which has taken place in Toronto, Canada, Rishikesh, India and throughout the United States. Courtney uses multiple evidence-based practices combined with her years of experience to reach her clients’ desired goals and aspirations as well as promoting their health and well being. Currently Courtney offers the option of talk therapy, body-centered therapy, and ecotherapy and holistic individualized yoga sessions to her clientele.  Courtney provides in office, Skype and concierge sessions for clients with specified needs. Apart from working as a therapist, Courtney has worked as both a life and death doula, providing compassionate support and practical expertise to individuals and families transitioning through the processes of birth and death. She has lectured, lead trainings and presented workshops on various topics in Canada, India and the United States as well as leading outdoor education and edible plant excursions in local Ontario forests and wilderness.
